Peasant Rice
Description
the peasant rice, also called rice with vegetables, is a tipical dish in cundinamarca, because that´s a region where the people eat a lot of vegetables.
The peasant rice is really good for the people that don´t eat vegetables, because, in this meal, the combination of rice with vegetables, do that the flavor was different and delicious.
The combination of colors in this meal is really atractive.
Ingredients
- A pound of rice
- 2 cups of water
- A cup of sweet corn
-A quarter of bacon
-2 Chiken breasts, Sliced (Raw)
-1 red pepper, sliced
-A Chicken stock cube
-2 bunches of shallots
-2 garlic cloves, smashed
-2 tablespoons of black sauce
-2 tablespoons of ketchup
Salt and Oil ( to preference )
Preparation
In a teflon saucepan saute the bacon and the chicken, add the onions, red pepper, garlic corn, the rice and then the rest of the ingredients, cover the saucepan and wait until it boils, and put on low 40 minutes approximately.
Anecdote
2 years ago in a family trip, we went to a farm located between Bolombolo and Titiribí. In this trip we had to prepare the lunch ( a big family lunch).
There were only eight people for prepare a big lunch for 50 people ( My family ) That was funny.
They prepared a really good meal called peasant rice.
That dish was awesome and everybody were so happy with that lunch.
